1. It's cheaper
Because people don't usually hire a campervan in the winter, most companies drop their prices a bit which makes it more affordable! It's a good idea to check our facebook and instagram pages to check last minute deals ;)
2. It's cosy
There's something so nice about all being together in a campervan as the space to warm up is small and you can play a card game or watch a movie with a hot chocolate. You also won't need to use as much heating as the more of you there are, the warmer it will be.
3. The roads are quieter
Again because most people don't venture out as much in the winter, you will have the roads to yourselves so traffic won't be a problem. Tourist attractions won't be as busy either so you can explore without the crowds!
4. The scenery is completely different
You might have travelled somewhere before but when you visit in the winter it looks completely different. This is especially true with places in Scotland as a lot of areas get snow which makes it so magical!
5. Easier to get time off work
Depending on where you work or what job you do, the majority aren't open over the Christmas period which makes it the perfect time to go on holiday. If you've got it off work anyway then why not go for a cheaper winter break? Obviously some places add on the £££'s but with a campervan break, it's usually cheaper. It's worth looking into atleast!
6. Winter blues
Most of us suffer from the winter blues as it's cold and grey but you can combat it with a holiday to explore and experience outdoor activities like kayaking! Instead of being stuck at home you can turn a dreary day into a fun day of exploring.
7. You can enjoy hearty food
Usually in the summer you opt for salads or lighter options at a restaurant but the best thing about winter is that you can have a hot hearty roast dinner or burger at a pub. If you can find a pub with a fire, you could enjoy a hot toddy by the fire after dinner!
8. Experiment with hot alcoholic or non alcoholic drinks
This is a great chance to experiment with all types of hot drinks and if you find somewhere close to where you've parked, you can have a few drinks and not worry about driving.
9. Great for your dog
If you own a dog, you know the summer is pretty restrictive for them whether it's no dogs allowed on the beach or the fact that it's too hot for them during the day. That's why winter is great for them to fully enjoy the whole holiday with you. A lot of places in England such as Keswick in the Lake District have dog friendly pubs making it the perfect holiday!
10. Northern Lights
You don't need to go all the way to Iceland to see the Northern lights because in the winter in the north of Scotland you can enjoy the amazing light show right from your campervan! You could put your bed down, open the doors and watch the stars and potentially the northern lights all wrapped up!
11. It's romantic
Sometimes the thing you need with your partner is time away just the 2 of you. A campervan holiday in the winter is perfect for that as it's just you 2 and the open road. It gives you the chance to be spontaneous the whole holiday, choosing to do what you want, when you want. Not to mention all the cosy romantic quiet evenings.
