Hi Campers!
The GREAT thing about a campervan holiday compared to camping is that it's completely hassle-free. You don't need to dig out the tent from the back of the cobweb filled garage or loft plus you don't need to pack everything AND the kitchen sink.
Most campervan hire companies (including us) provide all the essentials you need like pans, utensils and all the basic cooking tools you will need so you don't need to pack everything you own just for a week's holiday!
So here's what you need to pack:
CLOTHES BUT NOT TOO MANY - A good way to pack is choosing outfits which you can mix and match to make other outfits so that you don't overpack.
GOOD WALKING SHOES - you don't need to go out and buy new hiking boots but a good pair of shoes will be great for spontaneous walks.
ENTERTAINMENT - Board games, DVDs or books are all great to enjoy your evenings in the campervan plus it brings you together rather than being isolated on mobile phones!
SNACKS - we've briefly touched on snacks in a previous blog post but the main thing to think about is a balance of both healthy and not. After a few hours driving and snacking on chocolate or sweets, you'll be desperate for some fruit so pack both!
FOOD - we recommend buying food for a few days so that nothing goes to waste. You can then stock up when needed because you don't know which amazing pub you might stumble across so it leaves your options open.
TOILETRIES - a campervan holiday is the best time to go au naturale so embrace the curls, let the beard grow and let your skin have a break. If you can't do it on a camper van holiday, then when can you?
WET WIPES - these are a life-saver and can be used for so many things from cleaning your hands to wiping down the kitchen worktop. Hand sanitiser is also great for washing hands on the go!
MICROFIBRE TOWELS - instead of bringing bulky towels with you, microfibre towels take up less space, absorb more water and dry quicker. They can be used for drying the dogs paws, going to the beach or something as crazy as taking a shower ;)
TORCH - an essential for any campervan holiday especially if you need to wee in the middle of the night without waking everyone up!
