1. Durdle Door
This unique place to visit holds some of the best scenic views and is a great place to take photos. You can walk down to the hilltop but remember to wear good walking shoes especially if you decide to venture down the steps onto the beautiful beach! It's a bit of jaunt but well worth it. You could even take a packed lunch and stay down there.

2. Brownsea Island
You need to take a small boat or mini ferry over to Brownsea island but again it's worth it plus if you have kids or if you're a kid at heart, the mini boat ride is fun! It's worth noting that if you aren't a National Trust member then you need to pay to get in - the current prices for adults is... and children are...
There are amazing walks, natural play areas for kids and at the end of the long day you can enjoy a cream tea at the cosy tea-rooms!
3. Bournemouth Beach
If you're a beach lover then Bournemouth beach is for you. It's got a bit more going on such as kids arcades, restaurants overlooking the beach and a 5 minute walk into the centre. It's got something for everyone in the family including the oceanarium!
4. The food
Dorset is known for it's traditional English food and drinks and there are an abundance of places to try. You can walk along the beach with fish and chips or simply watch the waves whilst enjoying a scone and cup of hot tea. Dorset is great for an foodies out there!

5. Corfe Castle
These ruins are a great look into history for yourself or the kids. There are special days that the kids can dress up as people from the medieval times. You can also wonder into the countryside town to visit quirky shops, the model village or just wonder around the low door brick houses. It's definitely worth a visit!

6. Kingston Lacy
Another National Trust place to visit - don't worry we're not being sponsored by National Trust! But this place is another great day out for everyone. Their website describes it much better than we could: 'A lavish family home re-imagined as a Venetian Palace in the rural Dorset countryside.'

The gardens are beautiful and there's somewhere to stop for a coffee after you've enjoyed the walks or exploring the house.
