You don’t want to stop your holiday just because it’s raining, so we’ve come up with fun things to do when it rains!
1. Go to the cinema
There’s something cosy about watching a movie at the cinema in the middle of the day when it’s raining. It’s usually not that packed and it’s obviously dry!
2. Have a mud walk
Sometimes it’s good to just embrace the weather so get wrapped up warm and grab your umbrellas. You can then come back, have a shower in your camper or campsite and relax with some hot chocolate.
3. Play games
If you don’t feel like venturing out, you can stay cosied in and play board games and eat yummy food whilst hearing the noise of the rain which is quite therapeutic!
4. Visit a historic house
You might think historic houses aren't your thing but so many now include parks for kids, cafes and nice walks around the gardens. There are 2 main websites to search for the nearest one to you which are https://www.nationaltrust.org.uk and https://www.historichouses.org - if you've visited one that you liked we would love to know which one and where!
5. Shopping
Obviously not everyone is into shopping but if there was a shopping mall/centre near where you are staying then a rainy day would be the best day to have a look. They usually have more than just shops such as an indoor play area for kids or massage chairs for the adults! One good idea is to look for a shopping centre which has something different about it like the Intu Metrocentre in Gateshead, Tyne and Wear.
