9 USEFUL TIPS FOR A PERFECT CAMPERVAN TRIP

Hi Campers!

If you've never been on a campervan holiday before or want to find out a few tips to make your holiday easier, take a look at 9 of our most useful tips for a perfect campervan trip!

1. Check what you have
Most Campervans come with an inventory list of items the van comes with such as pots, pans or cutlery. Double check that the inventory list is the same as what’s actually in the van - that way you won’t be left paying for an item you never had in the first place!

2. Check what you need
After checking what you have, make a list of items you will need for this type of holiday. For example, baby wipes are a handy thing to have to quickly clean up spills.

3. Don’t overpack
Campervans can get cluttered and crowded pretty quick when you have too much stuff. Carefully plan outfits which can be used twice and only bring essential items when it comes to toiletries. Use this type of holiday to enjoy less makeup or grooming!

4. Get snacks for the road
If you’re exploring places further away, buying snacks beforehand is always a must. Pick up your favourite sweets or chocolate but remember to get something healthy too as all that driving can make you feel icky and a quick apple after stuffing your face can help.

5. Bring entertainment
So we know we said don’t overpack BUT bringing a book, board games/cards or a DVD will give your evenings a little kick. There’s nothing better than a beverage of your choice, snacks, good company and a game. To save space, don’t bring the box of the game, just bring the parts of the game in a sandwich bag!

6. Sat nav or wifi
So unless you have an inner GPS system (most men do apparently) then you will need either a SAT NAV or enough data on your phone to fuel google maps. Check all of this before you go! There's also nothing worse than trying to find where you’re going with no service so make sure you start the route from the beginning even if you know how to get most of the way without it.

7. Plan where you’re going but be flexible
Planning roughly where you are going is part of the excitement but leave yourself flexible for spontaneous stops when you see something on your journey! Having a rough itinerary and leaving room for changes will make your holiday much more fun and you’ll probably experience things you didn’t think you would.

8. Do your research
If you’re staying at a campsite, make sure you do your research. A campsite isn’t just a campsite and when you’re paying, you need all of the facilities to work. If your looking on tripadvisor, check the customer photos and not just the company ones as you’ll get a proper feel for what the campsite is like that way!

9. Bring a Torch
An essential item for any campervan holiday - you don’t want to start the whole van up just to go for a wee as not only is it wasting power but it will probably wake everyone up. It’s also great for late night reading if you can’t sleep!
